About Wonder Sewn
About Wonder Sewn
At Wonder Sewn, we believe sewing is about so much more than fabric and thread — it’s about connection, creativity, confidence, and community.
Founded by Julie, Wonder Sewn grew from a lifelong love of fashion, textiles, and handmade artistry. Over 20 years ago, while working in a bridal salon, Julie fell in love with the beauty of fabric, design, and the craftsmanship behind every garment. That passion led her to study at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, where she deepened her understanding of fashion, sewing, and creative design.
But somewhere along the way, sewing became about more than clothing.
In a world that feels increasingly fast, disconnected, and screen-focused, Wonder Sewn was created as a space to slow down, make things with our hands, and reconnect with one another through creativity. We believe in bringing back the lost art of making — not perfectly, but joyfully and together.
Wonder Sewn is designed to be more than a sewing school. It’s a creative community and a true third space — a welcoming place outside of work and home where people of all ages can gather, learn, create, and feel inspired. Whether you’re a complete beginner touching a sewing machine for the first time or someone rediscovering a forgotten hobby, you belong here.
Our classes and workshops focus on creativity, sustainability, and practical skills. From beginner sewing lessons and upcycling projects to community sewing circles, children’s classes, homeschool workshops, and creative gatherings, we are passionate about making sewing approachable, modern, and meaningful.
We value:
- Creative expression over perfection
- Community over competition
- Sustainability over waste
- Learning together at every age
- The beauty of handmade things
At Wonder Sewn, we hope to inspire people to create more, consume less, and build genuine connections through shared experiences and creativity.
Because sewing isn’t just a skill — it’s a way to tell stories, preserve traditions, build confidence, and bring people together one stitch at a time. 🧵✨
